Indigenous Ritual of the Sateré Mawé Tribe Among the indigenous rituals, what stands out most is the ritual of the Tucandeira in the Sateré-Mawé tribe.
This event is performed as a form of male initiation.
Ritual of the Tucandeiras Sateré Mawé! Leaving from Manaus at 09:00am by car for 1 hour to the Parana of Ariau,then by speed boat for 45min to the Trible Sateré Mawé at 11am.
At-12:00 noon -Lunch-simple,rice,flour,ants,maybe some salad,thats the way the indians liven in the Jungle and thats their food.
At-01:00pm-Explanation of the indian Pharmacy,natural medication maden by leaf and bark of the trees,the indians will give you a speech about all this natural medications.
At 02:00pm-The tourists will help the indians out find the famous ants “Tucandeiras”,the indians will find them in the wholes Leaving by motorized canoe and help the indians out find the ants “Tucandeiras”.
At 03:00pm start the apresentation which we do not recommend any body try except the indians,you will have a chance to film,make the photos and participate with them dance together.
At 04:00pm Coming back to Manaus and arrive at 18:00pm.
