DESCRIPTION

Max Maia, the owner and founder of the lodge, lived all his childhood in the region of the Mamori river, he grew up contemplating the Amazonian beauties, listening to birds singing, learning from the beginning the importance of living in community and producing sustenance from daily activities common to the riverside caboclo (locals): hunting, fishing, planting and harvesting.

LOCATION

We are located in a prime area of the primary jungle with a rich biodiversity and vast options for ecotourism, bird watching, adventure and leisure.

The trip from Manaus to the inn is the first part of the adventure, we can guarantee that our guests will contemplate different ecosystems during this experience at Amazon Turtle Lodge.

DIFFERENTIAL OF THIS PACKAGE

Ideal for those who have little time but do not want to miss the opportunity to get to know the Amazon and stay at a hotel in the jungle.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PACKAGE

1st DAY | TRANSFER FROM MANAUS – KNOWING THE REGION OF RIO MAMORI AND TRACAJÁ LAKE

Motorized canoe ride through the river

08h00 – Car transfer to the Port of Ceasa, with a brief visit to the Ceasa fish and fruit market.

We will embark on a regional boat.
We will follow the river route until the Meeting of the Waters.
Short stop to take photos of the Meeting of the rivers Negro and Solimões.
Possibilities to see pink dolphins in this region.
Continuing the excursion, we will continue our journey to Villa do Careiro, from where we will depart by land (van or micro-bus) on the BR 319. On the way it is possible to contemplate the Victory Regalia, a brief stop for photographs, and follow the road towards to our destination.

From branch 14 on the AM-020, the trip will continue via river by motorized boat. This part of the trip is a real adventure, we will follow a beautiful path through the Igarapés (small arms of the river) and the Igapós (Area of flooded forest).

In the afternoon we will take the first tour around the Lake of Tracajá .:

Drive in a motorized canoe to contemplate the Amazon rainforest.
Opportunity for observation of Amazonian Fauna and Flora.
Contemplation of a variety of birds.
7:00 pm – Dinner will be served with the best of Amazonian cuisine.

2º DAY | CONTEMPLATION OF THE NATURE, LOCAL COMMUNITY & RETURN TO MANAUS

5:30 am – Departure by motorized canoe to watch the sunrise and observe the morning flight of the birds. Return to a delicious regional breakfast, and soon after we will continue with the following activities:

08h00 – after breakfast, we continue with the last activity of the day:

Visit to the house of caboclos.
To know the customs, culture and way of sustenance of the riverside of the Amazon.
Lunch at Amazon Turtle Lodge.
After lunch return to Manaus. Arrival forecast at 5:00 pm, with finalization at a hotel or Airport.

In the afternoon we will take the first walk around the Lake of Tracajá:

Drive in a motorized canoe to contemplate the Amazon rainforest.

7:00 pm – Dinner will be served with the best of Amazonian cuisine.

2º DAY | ECOTOURISM, ECOLOGICAL TRACKS & AMAZON CONTEMPLATION

Experiences – Recognizing medicinal plants

Hiking in the jungle with specialized guide.
During this tour the guide will present some techniques of survival in the jungle using the resources of the forest, as well as the edible plants of the Amazon.
Opportunity to know and identify some species of medicinal plants.
Return to the lodge for lunch.
15:00 – Departure in motorized canoes to fish piranhas, and with good luck other types of fish. Return to the Lodge at dusk. After dinner, river ride:

Contemplate animals of nocturnal habits.
Alligator Focus.
Return to the lodge for a Caipirinha drink.
Relax and enjoy the facilities of the lodge.

3º DAY | COMMUNITIES & LOCAL CULTURE – RETURN TO MANAUS

08h00 – After breakfast, we continue with the last activity of the day:

Visit to the house of caboclos.
To know the customs, culture and way of sustenance of the riverside of the Amazon.
Possibility to visit the community school.
Lunch at Amazon Turtle Lodge.
After lunch return to Manaus. Arrival forecast at 5:00 pm, with finalization at a hotel or Airport.

2º DAY | ECOTOURISM, ECOLOGICAL TRACKS

05:30 AM – Awakening in the Amazon. Early departure on a motorized canoe ride to contemplate the sunrise and observe the beautiful morning flight of birds.
08h00 – Breakfast will be served and soon after we continue with the following activities:

Jungle trek with specialized guide
Instructions on how to survive in the Amazon jungle and identify some edible plants.
Know a little of the variety of medicinal plants of the Amazon.
Return to the lodge for lunch.

15:00 – We will continue to some activities along the Lake of Tracajá:

Canoe paddle for bird watching.
Contemplation of Amazonian Fauna and Flora.
Watch the beautiful Amazonian sunset on the banks of the Mamori River.
7:00 pm – Dinner will be served and shortly after our guide will take you on a motorized canoe trip for observation of nocturnal animals, including the focus of alligators.

3º DAY | LOCAL COMMUNITIES & CULTURE AND CONTEMPLATION OF THE AMAZON
Regional fishery

08h00 – After breakfast, we will continue to our morning walk in the Amazon forest:

We will visit a riverside community.
We will know the style of caboclo houses.
To know the customs, culture and way of subsistence of the local communities.
Return to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, motorized canoeing to fish for piranhas in the vicinity of Lake Tracajá. At dusk, return to the lodge. Dinner will be served at 7:00 pm.

The night will be reserved for relaxation, an ideal time to enjoy the sounds of the rainforest and the mysteries of the Amazon rainforest.

4º DAY | DEPARTURE OF THE JUNGLE & RETURN TO MANAUS

08h00 – Breakfast. Departure to Manaus can be in the morning or after lunch. Depending on the itinerary / client’s schedule, we offer the possibility of an additional tour (at Turtle Lodge) in the morning. The transfer could be direct to the airport or hotel in Manaus.
