1-day tour in the Amazon

Start the day with pickup from your hotel at approximately 8am.  Drive west from Manaus for about an hour until you reach Castanho lake, where your host will be waiting for you.

Take a motorized canoe into the jungle to begin a 2-hour hike.  Learn more about the Amazon fauna and flora, medicinal plants and jungle survival techniques.(it is necessary to wear long pants, closed shoes, use insect repellent and bring a raincoat), starting on this walk, visit a project to protect pink dolphins.

Learn more about these beautiful, friendly creatures and the conservation efforts underway to protect them.  Take advantage of the unique opportunity to get into the water to interact with them.  (bring your swimsuits and towels), visit the host’s home and enjoy a delicious lunch with your family.  Learn more about the culture of the local people and the history of the Amazon in general.  Then, enjoy a boat ride through the flooded forest to fish for piranhas and capture these famously ferocious aquatic beasts.  (Lunch is simple, we don’t have a fancy menu. Bring sunscreen and a hat for the tour), as night falls, embark on a search for crocodiles and other reclusive species of nocturnal wildlife.  Return to the road and head back to Manaus, arriving at the hotel at approximately 8pm.  (you can bring a flashlight if you want),
